HIRING CASUALTY MEDICAL OFFICER
We are hiring Casualty Medical Officer for the Leading Hospital in Kerala.The Casualty Medical Officer (CMO) is responsible for providing immediate, efficient, and high-quality medical care to patients presenting to the Emergency/Casualty Department. The CMO performs rapid assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment of emergency cases while coordinating with consultants, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.We are hiring Casualty Medical Officer for the Leading Hospital in Kerala.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Assess, diagnose, stabilize, and manage patients presenting with medical, surgical, trauma, pediatric, obstetric, and other emergency conditions.
- Perform initial evaluation and prioritize treatment based on the severity of illness using established triage protocols.
- Administer emergency medical treatment and life-saving interventions as required.
- Perform emergency procedures such as wound suturing, splinting, intubation assistance, CPR, defibrillation, catheterization, and other emergency interventions within the scope of practice.
- Monitor patients until admission, discharge, referral, or transfer.
Emergency Management
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and trauma cases.
- Manage critically ill patients in coordination with specialists and consultants.
- Participate in hospital emergency codes and disaster management protocols.
- Ensure timely referrals to appropriate specialty departments.
Clinical Documentation
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, medical notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
- Ensure all medico-legal cases are documented according to hospital policies and statutory requirements.
- Prepare necessary reports and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate effectively with consultants, nursing staff, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and other support departments.
- Communicate patient conditions and treatment plans clearly with patients and their families.
- Ensure smooth patient transfers within or outside the hospital when required.
Infection Control & Patient Safety
- Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols.
- Follow hospital quality standards and patient safety guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with NABH/NABL and other regulatory standards wherever applicable.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Participate in departmental meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist in developing and implementing emergency department protocols.
- Supervise junior doctors, interns, and emergency nursing staff when required.
- Ensure availability and proper utilization of emergency equipment and medications.
Qualifications
- MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
- Valid Medical Council Registration (NMC/State Medical Council).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification mandatory.
- ATLS certification is an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–5 years of experience in Emergency Medicine, Casualty, ICU, or Critical Care preferred.
- Fresh MBBS graduates with mandatory internship may be considered, subject to hospital policy.
