HIRING Geriatric Doctor for the Leading HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY . The Geriatric Doctor is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to elderly patients, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of age-related diseases and chronic conditions. The role involves promoting healthy aging, improving quality of life, coordinating multidisciplinary care, and supporting patients and their families in managing complex healthcare needs. Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

• Conduct comprehensive medical assessments of geriatric patients, including physical, cognitive, functional, and psychosocial evaluations.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses affecting older adults.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on the patient’s medical condition, functional status, and quality-of-life goals.
• Manage multiple chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, COPD, heart disease, and chronic kidney disease.
• Review medications regularly to minimize polypharmacy and prevent adverse drug interactions.
• Provide preventive healthcare services, including routine health screenings, immunizations, and lifestyle counseling.

Patient Management

• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Coordinate care with specialists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, psychologists, nurses, and social workers.
• Manage elderly patients requiring palliative, rehabilitative, or long-term care.
• Provide home care consultations and telemedicine support where applicable.
• Ensure appropriate referrals for specialized investigations and treatments.

Family & Caregiver Support

• Educate patients and caregivers about disease management, medication adherence, nutrition, fall prevention, and healthy aging.
• Counsel families regarding dementia care, end-of-life care, and advanced care planning.
• Assist caregivers in developing effective home care strategies.

Clinical Documentation

• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical records.
• Prepare clinical notes, treatment plans, referral letters, discharge summaries, and follow-up documentation.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient information and compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Quality & Compliance

• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control guidelines, and patient safety protocols.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education (CME).
• Ensure compliance with NABH and other applicable healthcare regulatory standards.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Participate in departmental meetings and multidisciplinary case discussions.
• Assist in developing geriatric care protocols and clinical pathways.
• Mentor junior doctors, interns, and nursing staff on geriatric care practices when required.

Qualifications

• MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
• MD/DNB in General Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, or Internal Medicine preferred.
• Fellowship or specialization in Geriatric Medicine is an added advantage.
• Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council.

Experience

• 2 years of clinical experience in Internal Medicine or Geriatric Care.
• Experience in hospitals, senior living communities, rehabilitation centers, or geriatric clinics is preferred.
